What we collect
  • Your email address and hashed password
  • Tank parameter readings you log (salinity, alkalinity, etc.)
  • Your tank animal list and settings
  • Photos you upload — tank progress photos, and images you submit to AI Assist for animal identification or health checks (location and personal metadata are stripped on upload)
  • Billing status (plan tier only — payment details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us)
How we use it
  • To run the app and show you your own data
  • To send account emails (verification, password reset, billing receipts)
  • To generate AI-powered recommendations using the Anthropic API — your animal and parameter data is sent to Anthropic's API for this purpose
  • To identify animals from photos in AI Assist — images you submit are sent to Anthropic (Claude) and to Modal, a serverless compute provider that runs our species-identification model, to produce the result. Only the image is processed (not your account or tank data), and your photos are not used to train AI models.
What we don't do
  • We don't sell your data
  • We don't share your data with third parties except as described above (Stripe for billing; Anthropic and Modal for AI features)
  • We don't use tracking cookies or ad networks
Data retention
Your data is stored as long as your account is active. You can request deletion by emailing info@reefcmd.com. ReefCMD LLC will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days of your request.
Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS. Your session is stored in a signed, httponly cookie.
