🚨 IN YOUR TANK
You have 1 susceptible animal(s): 🪸 Acropora SPS.
Long, stringy green algae that coats rockwork and substrate. Not directly harmful to corals but outcompetes them for space and light. Almost always a symptom of excess nutrients rather than a primary problem.
🔍 IDENTIFICATION
Fine green threads 1–5cm long growing from rock surfaces. Can form dense mats. Pulls away easily in clumps but grows back quickly if nutrients aren't addressed.
🛡 PREVENTION
✓Keep nitrate below 10 ppm and phosphate below 0.1 ppm
✓Run refugium with chaeto on reverse photoperiod
✓Don't overfeed — remove uneaten food within minutes
