🚨 IN YOUR TANK
You have 1 susceptible animal(s): 🪸 Hammer Coral.
Most bristle worms are beneficial scavengers and should be left alone. Large fireworms (Hermodice) are the exception — they actively prey on corals and clams. Small bristle worms are part of a healthy cleanup crew. Don't eradicate all of them.
🔍 IDENTIFICATION
Segmented worms with bristle tufts along the sides. Range from 1cm to 30cm+. Pink/red large fireworms are the dangerous ones. Small beige/white worms under 5cm are usually beneficial. Found under rocks and in substrate.
🛡 PREVENTION
Don't overfeed — remove uneaten food
A healthy population of small bristle worms is normal and desirable
